Karma Kismet is a newly opened lounge and casual dine in with the experience of fine dine. Its in the M block market of GKII. The place is on the 1st and 2nd floor of the building. At first floor its a lounge and on second floor its a dine in area. They have a bar on the first floor i.e the lounge area (pretty obvious for where the bar counter would be) and a live kitchen on the second floor. They have maintained a pretty healthy ambience for the place.
Though I didn’t tried their cocktails, but I did had a couple of mocktails. Coming to the food and drinks experience, I had a few starters, main course, desserts and mocktails.
For starters, I had:
- Gucci ka Shorba: A soup bowl was served with kashmiri morels, slow panached vegetables, shimeji and enoki mushroom in it and the clear water was poured in the bowl at the table only. The flavours were so very well balanced.
- Galouti ki Kismet: It is a mushroom galouti kebeb, with the fillings of mushrooms and cress. It was served on a ulte tawe ka paratha (mini parathas for each kebab). The kebabs were really very soft and mouthwatering.
- Shatavari ki Tikki: The best of the lot for starters, it was very delicious. It was presented in a platter with the white asparagus peals and pine nuts on it. The tikkis were papad coated, the filling was of finely minced cottage cheese, pine nuts and white asparagus. The papad coating made the tikki well more crispy and also added to the taste.
- Dal Karma: It was a finely cooked dal, tasted good, but could have been better. By saying could have been better, I meant the taste could be enhanced as the taste didn’t differed much from the dal makhani we could have at most places or on a regular basis.
- Saag (Paneer): Again, a delicacy served at the table, it was really succulent. Though the only thing I think that can be changed in it was the size of cubes of paneer. It had big cubes of paneer, but anyways, what difference does it make and might as well it may not look so appealing if the cubes are to be small in the curry.
- Qorma (Vegetable): Amongst the main course lot, this particular item was the pre-eminent. It was the most lip smacking dish of all.
There was lachha paratha and warqui naan for breads to have with them. Also there was vegetable biryani for the main course.
Just for the cherry on top, I had their signature dessert i.e “The evolution of Paan”. It is a must try. There was a paan leaf in the platter, there was gulkand macroons on it, saffron snow, fennel sponge, strawberry gel, dehydrated paan leaf caramel and to have this paan, you got smash the macaroons first and then roll up the paan leaf with all the ingredients in it, that were in the platter, and have them all at once.
PS. If you are planning to visit this place, their papad basket served at first with the chutney is a must have. The chutney is amazing.
