The South Delhi Kitchen is a nice and cozy place in shahpur jat. Its on the 5th floor of the shishan building in the market, though the entry for the building is from the back side. There are a few more cafes in the same building and around the building too. This newly opened cafe, offers the food with a touch of home kitchen. The food tastes brilliant, also there are some shakes, which were amazing.
They have done pretty good with the place. There are mattresses lying on one side, there were dining tables, there were small tables with bean bags around, a small sethi.
Yes, they are doing things differently as per to sustain themselves in the market. Not much of eateries offers home kitchen food. Though its not a home kitchen, but the food tastes like its home made. The deliciousness of the food will sway you, the essence of the food coming from the bowl will make you bask in it.
I was here some time back, and started out with some vanilla shake. As for the food, I had dal tadka, bhune aloo ki sabji with some raita and to have it with there were butter tawa roti. For the desserts I had gulab jaamun with vanilla ice cream. There were two small gulab jamuns with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, all in the same bowl. The hot gulab jamuns with iced vanillas was very toothsome.
All in all it was a homely feeling at this place. The food, the ambience, there was a book shelf too, everything complemented each other.
