Lotus pond is a very old and renowned name of Delhi NCR, it a Chinese cuisine restaurant in new friends colony. They are serving people with some great quality and mouth watering food for more than two decades. This is the place to be if you want to enjoy some great chinese food.
The interiors of the place are very classic. The lamps, furniture, counter etc, all complements the feel of a classic fine dining restaurant. Also they have a big round table in their lower ground floor, for big gatherings, say for about 15 people.
I was here for lunch with some colleagues of mine. We had
- Beans, carrot and mushrooms dim sums.
- Tom kha (soup).
- Cottage cheese fingers.
- Crispy water chestnuts.
- Chilly pepper corn.
- Quick fry mix greens with herbs.
- Stir fried zucchini, pokchoy, beancurd and exotic mushroom in backbean sauce.
- Ginger, capsicum fried rice.
- Chilly garlic noodles.
- Fried ice cream.
- Mocca rage
I would strongly recommend dim sums, cottage cheese fingers, crispy water chestnuts, fried rice, garlic noodles and mocca rage (for desserts). Food on the whole was very good, and there wasn’t anything in any dish to be pointed out or anything, however the mentioned dishes are from my personal recommendations to try out from this place.
There were a few things that tried here, but never had it before. One of those was fried ice cream, it was vanilla ice cream with thin layer of bread coating on it. So the whole thing was sort of fried bread balls with ice cream in the bread fillings.
Little something for the service and staff as well. Well trained, well mannered, friendly, knowledge about the dishes in menu, courteous and active.
